Welcome to the thread & poll for the June 2012 Background Photo. We'd like to thank all members who submitted photos to us this month and to all members who have submitted photos in to us since August 2006. Sadly there can only be 6 photos that go through to the poll and these have been carefully selected by the staff members on the forum.
We would ask all members to vote in the poll so you can have your say and cast your vote for the photo which you think deserves to be placed on the background of the forum. Remember if you are a new member you will not see the background photo by default. In order to view the background photo you need to select the SYT skin in your profile.
Poll Closing Date - The Poll will be closed automatically on Friday 1 June 2012, and the new background photo will be uploaded on to the forum on that date.
How To Select - You just simply look at the numbers at the side of the photo, select your best one, out of the 6, then vote for that number in the poll. In the event of a tie, both photos will be displayed on the forum for a period of 2 weeks each.

A lot might disagree with me, but we all have different views... Another photo of 120! Would this be the 4th or 5th photo of that same tram we have had win? Getting rather boring

I agree with the above about that tram being over exposed in this topic.
Nevertheless the photograph is interesting because it features a tram reversing at the rarely used Spring Lane crossover, it is unfortunate that the tram just had to be 120.
Lets not forget that last month's joint winner was a Sheffield Transport half cab which tend to win whenever they are entered, maybe there is a yearning among some to relive the bygone era.

Getting rather boring It's tricky - 120 is the most photographed tram, the most discussed tram (on here) etc. It's a different picture (to previous ones), showing an unusual working, well composed, and if it weren't selected then maybe we'd have people complaining that there were too many bus pictures? The fact that it seems to be fairly popular (based on the first few "comments" on this thread) certainly seem to justify its inclusion. As ever, of course, its down to the photos submitted - maybe there'll be more of other trams (or other forms of transport) next month. |
