I notice that the Unusual sightings & allocations thread in buses has gone from weekly to being for 3 months. What was the thinking behind this change?

Could it be something to do with this summer their been a lot more unusual allocations? Due to buses going down to London for the Olympics and lots of buses being repainted in to the new livery their will be a lot more expected unusual allocations.

It could be nothing simpler than to reduce the task of closing the old and creating a new thread every week. After all the thread serves the same purpose whether it is weekly or quarterly.

As atlantean said, I imagine it's as simple as that. I'm not sure how threads with longer periods would be any more useful for Olympic allocations?
