X78 is delayed today! I was on the 14:25 pm departure from Sheffield with full loadings. It arrived at Rotherham and drivers were panicing. A First guy was talking to a bus driver called Duncan? and a female driver. The issue was that the driver was due a break so when the bus reached Warmsworth Roundabout the driver kicked us off. Then 3 B9's in a convoy turned up and I had to get on a different bus.
Also some passengers were confused because they wearn't sure if Balby Road was closed. I've been told it's between 7pm-6am.

No drivers at Rotherham called Duncan. ;D And there is a difference between being transferred to a following bus and being kicked off. The supervisory staff at Rotherham have an obligation to regulate the service for the benefit of ALL passengers. As you said there were 4 buses running together because of roadworks at the Wilton and Balby so the dispersal of those buses is good practice. Balby road inbound diversion is Monday to Thursday only.

Thanks Duncan. No drivers at RO called Duncan? Kicked off was the first thing that came to my mind. The female driver was due a break so she pulled up at the near the A1M roundabout and turned around.

Following instructions from the radio controller in order to space the service and maintain service provision on ALL parts of the service. X78 is now monitored during the day to ensure that issues of bunching are resolved as quickly as possible, with minimum upset to passengers. To that end some additional destinations are to be uploaded to the buses to allow short journeys at times of bunching. Probably Warmsworth and Connisborough Castle.

Makes sense, But reliability is an issue now. I shall be using the X78 on monday as I'll be on route to After Dark in Sheffield. Hopefully Balby Road and Wilton Gardens will be kind to me.

According to the contractors there will be no diversion on Monday. Perhaps some of the Doncaster staff may be able to confirm.

I must say that female driver was friendly she helped the passengers out who were confused. You can tell her that next time. She even flagged down the bus for us and explained the situation to the other driver. Whenever I've been on a First bus the drivers seem nice.
