A large area of Doncaster town centre and the outskirts roads will be resurfaced on Sundays starting on the 19 January 2014, as a result bus services which come into town via Thorne Road will be diverted.
Thorne Road, Doncaster will be closed on Sundays 19th/26th Jan, 2nd/9th/16th/23rd Feb between 8am and midnight. During this period services will be diverted as follows: Services 81, 82, 84, 87, 88 towards Doncaster normal to Thorne Road/Auckland Road right into Auckland Road, Beckett Road, The Holmes, Broxholme Lane, Netherhall Road, Silver Street then normal route to Interchange. From Interchnage normal to Prince’s Street then East Laithe Gate, Netherhall Road, Broxholme Lane, The Holmes, Beckett Road, Auckland Road then normal from Thorne road. Service 66 towards Doncaster via Zetland Road, Thorne Road, Auckland Road, Beckett Road, The Holmes, Broxholme Lane, Netherhall Road, Silver Street then normal to Interchange. From Interchange Prince’s Street then East Laithe Gate, Netherhall Road, Broxholme Lane, The Holmes, Beckett Road, Auckland Road, Thorne Road, Town Moor Avenue then as normal.
Note this says until end of February but on future roadworks on Doncaster Council website it states roadworks will continue until end of March with Princes Street and Hallgate added

Broxholme lane is going to have to cope with a lot of traffic it doesn't cope best of times with just 76 and 77 a diversion via the market roundabout would have been much better.
66 outbound using Zetland Road but inbound using Town Moor Avenue why not just use Zetland Road back as well seems a bit strange.

Broxholme lane is going to have to cope with a lot of traffic it doesn't cope best of times with just 76 and 77 a diversion via the market roundabout would have been much better. 66 outbound using Zetland Road but inbound using Town Moor Avenue why not just use Zetland Road back as well seems a bit strange. And it should cope as there won't be much traffic on a Sunday.

Could it have something to do with the traffic lights?? As inbound you can't turn right can you? Outbound you can turn left onto Town Moor Av!

And it should cope as there won't be much traffic on a Sunday. The Holmes and market road are busy on Sundays with people going out on Sunday trips to York Road and free parking in town.
