RTC at Manor Top involving tram 117 and a Stagecoach Hybrid on the 120. Blue route suspended between Gleadless Townend and Sheffield Station

I didn't see it happen, but when passing by at 16:25 it looked like 110 was heading from Malin Bridge towards Hillsborough when 116 was going from Hillsborough towards Middlewood. I don't want to speculate/ blame, but the initial impression is that the front of 116 went into the side of 110 - i.e. 110 was half way across the junction when the "Yellow" tram went into the side of it. One of the worst places in Sheffield for a crash, given the traffic around Hillsborough! |

Not sure what is going on at Supertram, three tram on tram collisions in less than 2 years, two in the space of two weeks!
In this case it does look a rather stupid mistake, as per Dougie's description.
Hopefully this doesn't involve disruption to service as it did when 120/118 were out of action - not sure how close they are to getting the 399s out in service.

Signalling fault - tram 116 had stopped just before the diamond crossing, driver of tram 110 misjudged the swept path of the tram and the two came in contact. Both trams back in service.

Speaking of disruption, due to lack of tram availability, busss are operating every 20 minutes between Townend and Herdings Park for most of the day, with trams operating the first few of the day and the last few hours of the day.
