Hi everyone,
I was out on the trams yesterday and twice the crews swapped trams short of the terminus (Westfield on the Blue, Carbrook on the Yellow) with the crew on the tram coming in the opposite direction. The tram I was on then continued to the terminus but then stayed there Not in Service while the next tram terminated and departed again. (Hope that makes sense.)
Is this to do with trams bunching up en route or is it crew shift patterns, or both? How long has it been happening for because I've never known it happen before.
For reference, this was yesterday afternoon 4/5 ish, before today's timetable change.
Thanks.

Been happening for years and years . Its so the crews are back on there 'proper' runs. Basically the spare crew starts from the terminus at say '00' to get the late running tram back on time, and then the next and so on

It occurs regular on yellow in the morning peak around Arena and Carbrook , I imagine the new timetable will mean this happens very rarely from tomorrow.
