On Friday 25th January 2019 Tram Train 399205 failed in the Hillsborough area.... The fault couldn't be sorted so it resulted in Tram 109 pushing the tram train 399205 very slowly back to the depot.... Given the impression that the tram train was pulling the tram...... This failure is worrying. Twitter is showing a small but significant amount of disquiet about the Tram train. There are cancelations due to tram breakdowns, lack of driver availability and other network rail issues. People are starting to question if it's value for money, and even whether the bus is more reliable. I love the service but Super tram need to remember this is a DFT trial. The general disruption level needs to improve. A new tram should ideally not be breaking down ideally. That's my view from general tweets I have read on TSY alerts.

Given the fact that tramtrains run directly in front of Meadowhall trams there seems to be a very low take up from my observations of it at various times of the day. I have said before and stand by my view that this trial has been badly thought out and badly handled from the outset. The trial should have involved bringing something new to the table instead of duplicating an existing corridor.
