A1 Empty If anyone can improve it, have a go . What about Rotherham, Doncaster and Barnsley?

That's a good point. So keep A stand as it is, move 18 to B1

My one suggestion would be that the services towards Furnival Street could all go from the "A" stands and the services towards Manor Top could go from the "D" stands, since that would avoid them crossing over on Harmer Lane - that way they can both get out of the Interchange faster.

A very good idea When allocating stands the timetable plays a large part in the proceedings as they try to make sure buses will not be blocked from stands due to clashing services. This of course depends on buses running on time and drivers not arriving too early or leaving buses on the stand whilst on their breaks. They also try to keep routes in groups by their destinations but that is not always easy as some routes justifiably could be put in two groups depending on their corridor and ultimate destinations. Stand allocation is a very difficult thing to do and often looks to be ill thought out from the outside.

dougie Managing Director Posts: 3,935	Interchange Stand Allocation Sept 3, 2020 18:06:22 GMT Quote Select Post Deselect Post Link to Post Member Give Gift Back to Top Post by dougie on Sept 3, 2020 18:06:22 GMT It must be a very complicated "art", given the way that routes go (e.g. should the 252 be put with Heeley services like the 18 or with Eckington services like the 50) - I just know from bitter experience that the diversion into the main interchange and back out again can add quite a while to the Walkley bound 95 (compared to running along Pond Street, and the junction of Pond Street/ Harmer Lane can see a few buses delayed as they all do the tight turn fairly slowly and the different routes get in each others ways.
