I knew some B10Ms had gone up to Scotland, but didn't know it was Glasgow, until I was walking down a street there over the summer and I heard the distinctive B10M acceleration sound, turned around and an ex-Mainline H***RKU one rolled up!

How odd. First SY gets cast-offs from elsewhere yet is now casting-off its own buses elsewhere, even though they are decent buses. As long as they aren't swapping them for more Spuds...

shame about these buses going so MOI willt her ebe any more b10m's making there way up to glasgow as a contact of mine who works for first glasgow says k706/7 will be joining all the rest of the edt gang up there soon and the rest of the g reg ones will be going up aswell as some h reg ones from rotherham.
so can this be confirmed mate?
but he also said they they are swapping some b10ms and sending there m and n reg ones down to south yorkshire but not sure if that bits entirely true.

Keep the B10Ms, send the spuds up instead! Seconded! So according to this source, SY is sending its older B10Ms to Glasgow and they are sending some newer ones back down in return. Didn't the drivers on here say that the M-reg bunch isn't as good as some earlier batches? We (passengers) don't want new buses for the sake of it- what we want is good buses! Most low-floors don't fill me with confidence. Maybe they're just more delicate than old barges like the Dominators seemed to be, and need servicing that they don't get, but the quality of bodywork today seems bad.

Right, here we go. "My mate, whose auntie knows her grandchild thinks this, so she told me" time again!
a) Tom - Glasgow, Edinburgh or Penzance. Doesn't make any difference - no H-RKU buses have left the fleet other than '644' which was accident damaged, and even then only pieces of it left the company (some still with 771).
b) 601 has gone, and 9 others (i believe) will follow. We were not expecting 601 to go - at least yet - but given the batch (and the fact that Glasgow have 611/2/4-21) have a guess what batch the remainder will be!
c) the M-VETs are probably not the finest buses ever built, but there are NO plans to divest of these vehicles at all. Unfortunately the laws of accounting do not allow for bus enthusiasts preferences. The G-NWAs are 16 years old and although still good kit fundamentally, they are old and step entry and life expired. You may love em', i may love em', but the general man on the street does not. Read the papers, its not "oh golly oh gosh, can't wait for low floors in a couple of years", its "i demand low floors, where are my low floors".
d) its not cast-offs, its cascades. Its what businesses do!
e) Glasgow have no SPUDs (us and Huddersfield do) so therefore they can't send any.
f) Don't know who this contact is in Glasgow (let me assume he aint the real authority on things), but i know of no plans to send any H-THL, K-EDT, M-VET or N-CKY buses up there, with or without replacement. What a load of dribble. I can never rule things out, but from what i can gleam the buses going to Glasgow will not be replaced (as such) and are for driver training.
Sorry to be blunt, but i get the feeling that the stick is chasing the dog here. Lets share what we know (or ask what we don't) rather than jumping to inaccurate and random conclusions. That said, things can always change, and as and when appropriate you will be told.
Just as an aside, 683 was transferred from OG to RO over the weekend. Now we know that this was to release 601!
