Another rumour?
Does this rumour state what body/length they might be? Maybe we'll even get some more Spuds, if we're lucky..

well my contact is a stagecoach in yorkshire driver so i don't know and no just that they will be like the ones in sheffield on service 88 but there are 30 due for barnsley between 06/07 and this is just the first 10 of the 30 batch.
so until someone confirms this lets just hold back and see if it's true first.

Come on, it's a rumour but it's a rumour thats bound to be true. Out of the yearly Stegacoach group order, Barnsley (as a division HQ) was always going to get some new brand new vehicles. Look at the loads, the area etc and it's a pretty good guess that these will be darts.

"Your contact" eh Sam ? Or just someone who's posting you've read on the YTC Yahoo Group ?

Stagecoach standard spec Darts - like the 10 recently introduced to Sheffield. At least 10 are coming, though the exact details are still being sorted out, I'm sure you'll read about it where when things are more definite.

Maybe he's trying to say that he doesn't like it when there are rumours/gossip? I assume he's not talking about the feeling when kneeling the bus, anyway...

Yeah, fair do's a bit of a stressed rant if ever there was one.
Its just a bit annoying when people - who i assume are relatively clued up on buses - seem to go to pains to make statements that my missus would make!
Effectively there are two types of posting - "10 new Darts are coming for Barnsley" and "30 MCVs will be coming to Stagecoach". The latter of course is rubbish and you have to question where this stuff comes from. I know the canteen gossip well, but some people just know better than everybody else, create a stir and ultimately know very little. Thats the frustration. Maybe it shouldn't bother me, live and let live.
I just prefer a straight question from those who want to know rather than supposition from those who think they know.
Having read the possibility of ALX400s from Manchester, everybody and their dog seems to think they know where they'll go, yet YTC has quite rightly corrected that and put the record straight. Frankly, i think Barnsley is the last place i'd put deckers of modern vintage!
As for the Dart SLFs, why ask what spec. They'll be the usual Stagecoach 10-a-penny standard length, standard interior stock buses that ADL just build for fun for uncle Brian. In many ways thats what i like about Stagecoach, they're a bit cheap, but standardisation to the fore at all times. If its a Dart, it'll be like every other Dart.

I'm quite happy to sit here and answer any questions people may have, get in to debates about this that and the other. That said, I would ask certain people just to step back and have a think about what they are typing before they hit that 'post reply' button !

Well first of all, i don't believe i said they WERE coming to Barnsley, i merely commented on the possibility. I will be damned if ytcbarnsley and manontheinside are to tell me what i can or cannot post on this forum. (wannabe "forum moderators i think) I have, in the past respected things that these two members have said, however the fact they are saying we should think before we post is quite frankly, patronising. As long as posts are free of obscenities and abuse, whats the problem. As for the ALX400's. I wouldn't say that Devon is high on the list for modern deckers but thats where some are going.....FACT. And one final thought, many of manchesters early alx 400's are reaching mid-life status, something 'tracky' and stagecoach have been getting a lot of!

You can post what the hell you like as far as I'm concerned, just don't sulk if in future I ignore any total drivel (and Manclad that comment is not aimed directly at you). As for Devon.... they are taking some 2001/2002 Tridents ex Manchester as they have recently gained a lot of work around Barnstaple (from First), some of which is tendered, and some of which as I understand it calls for low floor DD's. Simple really.
