[SIY] K409 EWA seen in rotherham interchange today on service 288 in new stagecoach livery, looks really nice, still tracky seats but outside is in stagecoach colours was on service 288 heading towards doncaster.
I thought stagecoach was only ever going to paint one dart and that was k412 ewa but now there a 3 painted so is it another case of waisting the paint like stagecoach did on the metroriders and then withdrawing them from service?
By the waya re the metroriders still in Upper Sheffield Road depot or not?
ta, sam

Yes, 409 looks smart doesn't it. The engine etc feel better than they have before, remeber the gears etc were shocking on this one until recently. So guessing some work has been done on it?
The inside is pretty tatty though, a number of seats broken etc when I rode on it the other day, could have done with a bit of a refurb!

All but 4 remain in store at Barnsley as a 'reserve fleet' just in case, though I suspect they will be off for good shortly. 4 went down to Cheltenham/Gloucester fairly early on in Stagecoach days. Dart 409 was repainted last week, so there are now 4 step Darts repainted - 409 (Rawmarsh), 412 (Doncaster), 433 (Rawmarsh) and one of the 3 NC ones at Huddersfield (off memory 431 but don't quote me on that). Yes, initially no Darts were repainted until they were all looked at and the worse ones got rid off (all 6 of the J reg Reeve Burgess ones are now off, and some of the Wrights and Plaxtons ones have been disposed of). I suspect further inroads will be made in to the Dart fleet once new vehicles arrive.

Yes the darts do look nice and a lot better in stagecoach livery than in yorkshire traction livery but i still hate the buses.
