Read on the bus this morning that Stagecoach in Yorkshire bus fares are going up! I did read that fares over £1.50 are going up 20p - 30p and Day tipper tickets are staying the same. More details if they ever get posted on the tracky website, but tracky are really slow updating their site so expect it to be up around Christmas time. LOL

As promised the details of the fare increases for Yorkshire Traction. Lifted from their website.
INCREASED FARES
starting on 29 April 2006, single and day return fares will be increased.
During the past 3 years, passengers on Yorkshire Traction buses have recieved some £5million benefits in reduced fares. This is a direct result of being shielded from the full effects of fuel price increases by the capping arrangements the company was able to nogotiate. Regrettably similar arrangements are no longer available as fuel prices have soared.
However, despite the increases, in Yorkshire we are still fortunate enough to enjoy some of the lowest bus fares in the country.
Fares under £1 will mostly increase by 5 to 10 pence. Between £1 and £1.50, most fares will increase by 10 to 15 pence. Over £1.50, most fares will increase by 20 - 30 pence.
Day tripper, weekly and monthly tickets are not affected by these changes, making them even better value.
