It's part of a more extensive A630 corridor. The Northern way call it the Sheffield to Doncaster corridor. That is in no way trivializing Rotherham....just that it's part of a scheme to produce optimum access Doncaster-Rotherham-Sheffield. If anything Rotherham is in prime position to capitalise.

The a630 only needs improving between east rotherham and doncaster as the section between west rotherham and sheffield is all dual carriageway and is part of the sheffield-rotherham parkway but past hooton roberts the a630 is not full or busy until you get to the a1 roundabout then it becomes a dual carriageway for about 3 miles all the way to doncaster town centre.

Future Proposals
The two bus lanes on Fitzwilliam Road on the approach to St. Anne’s roundabout and on the approach to the Mushroom roundabout are due to be constructed in late 2006 / early 2007.

That is some good news then for the bus travelers and drivers on fitzwilliam road i think they need one on st anns road travelling to and from parkgate retail worrld as the traffic on that road is really bad but that is part of the dearne valley corridor and not the thrybergh corridor.
