But who are you going to take action against. If the firm has gone bust you will have no come back.
If one thing comes out of this, please all of you, no matter which photo holding site you are using, BACK YOUR PHOTOS UP TONIGHT PLEASE.

If they dont ill obtain a warrant. More fool you for using it as a storage device. Fotopic should only be used as a toolf or others to see your pics and not for storage. You will also find if you try saving them to your computer after that the quality is a lot lower than what you uploaded.

The earlier comment placed on en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fotopic.net that read: "As of March 2011 it looks like Fotopic has ceased operating with the site down, the e-mail not working and even the parent groups sites unavailable. There has been no official comment from the company & it is likely there never will be."...... has now been replaced by "As of March 2011, the servers are currently down and the future of Fotopic is unclear". Read into that what you will! We all know wikipedia isn't the most reliable of sources, but if the Fotopic servers are simply down why arn't they emailing people to tell them that. Why are the phones not answered. If it is simply down its very very poor customer service not to keep people informed.

Someone has told me, the best people to contact are Leeds Trading Standards who are looking into the company, but of course that is no good for any of you until monday morning, but may be worth a punt. The one thing i will say, is i feel sorry for anyone who has lost there stuff. The only reason i have started my new site is, at Christmas we had a burst pipe and water came cascading through the house. As my wife said, i could have lost all my photo's, so after Busman3 said he was scanning his collection, i started to do mine and storing them on a Hard Drive. I am now also do my slide collection.

Becuase unlike the old owners who would reply to any email almost immediatly day or night the new owners are not on the ball. It generally takes around ten days for emails to be replied too. It doesn't surprise me they have not sent an email they never did last year either!!

Good evening Barry, You are indeed correct, Fotopic are [or indeed were] registered in Wakefield, West Yorkshire so i belive Leeds trading standards is the best place to make contact. Im told that its not just subscribers who have complianed but several people who bought photos through fotopic have never recieved there orders. I would thing that if you are wanting to display your photo's for others to see then Flikr is the best site at the moment. Its not going to experience the same kind of problems as Fotopic as its owned and run by Yahoo. I really do hope Fotopic makes a come back, there are several sites i will miss alot, but at the moment things do look bleak

Ok and the fact some gallery owners haven't been paid for over 6 months for images sold though there sites??? Me being one of them!! As for Flickr, its OK but you cannot set things up in the same way as you can with Fotopic. For me the galleries are far better on Fotopic.
