This years event takes place on Sat June 19th 2010 , and is highly recommended ! - Addmision £2.50
....heres an update from the organizer...
... ''One week to go to the exhibition in Sheffield. As this year commemorates 50 years since the last conventional tram ran on Sheffield streets we are having a display of photos of them as well as four tramway layouts all containing Sheffield trams. As well as Walford Arches there will also be a variety of railway layouts of N, OO9, HO and OO scales plus model bus layouts from MBF members of Yorkshire, East Midlands, Lancashire and Cheshire/Potteries, plus displays by Little Bus Company, TiNY models, BUSKITS and Mirror Image Models, so it looks like another good selection. There will also be a couple of trade stalls including one new to the event who concentrates on afforable model buses! I know parking is a problem but I suggest you park in the various Park & Ride car parks and come in on the Supertram. If you alight at Castle Square or the Cathedral you are very close to the church and even if no-one has heard of Central United Reformed Church everyone has heard of the Crucible Theatre and we are right opposite the Stage Door entrance on Norfolk Street. ''...
Hope to see you there ! - Transit

How come you have to read all way through the info to find out where it is at surely it would be better to put its location first.

...sorry the quote was taken off another forum, (who all knew about this upcoming exhibition) and not actually an advert . I put in the details before and after hopefully to help! I am sure anyone on here knows where Sheffield City Centre is , so i am sure all the other info is helpful . Sorry you had to read through all that - at least you did !!!

I was disapointed last year very little or no lcoal stuff, what was local ie sheffield transport study group was sutffed in a corner
Too many displays not finished and a cup of coffee dumped in the middle of a bus layout for over an hour !
Lets hope its better this year

as it says in the first post Busman , there WILL definately be a much bigger influence on the "local" stuff this year , as i have made a point in streesing with the organisers , that " local visitors want to see local exhibits ", and to this point i have made contact with several local modellers who make local models ect and several have promised to come along and display. For the first time i also am displaying my Sheff/Syorks bus models (around 30+) at the show. I have also secured the visit of a superb large working layout (Chesfield) featuring the old style Sheffield trams in the large "O" gauge, which alone is worth visiting the show for ! - but theres more.... here will also be other tram layouts featuring Sheffield trams , and a display of photos to commemorate the 50th abandonment by the SYTM , which will be be the first acnowledgement the city has had !! ...so to sum up , there WILL be plenty of local stuff on display - hope to see you there !!!!!
