And they haven't half been full! Replacing trams with 88 seats and 155 standing capacity, with Darts with 39 seats and about 10 standing is not a good idea particularly on a bank holiday. I thought they were using the Scania E400s on the service, to address capacity issues from the last lot of track works? Kind Regards, Callum

Kind Regards, Callum They most likely assumed wrongly that with it being a bank holiday the double deckers wouldn't have been required. We saw this happen the last time with the works at Park Square with the Meadowhall line suffering from major overcrowding at Cricket Inn Road as a result.

It was also run by Holbrook meaning there were no deckers to use (although there soon will be!) - although there are Enviro300s/DAFs which are at least slightly larger in capacity.

From what I hear, it will be the last two weekends in October. Will be a bus replacement service between Herdings Park and Birley Lane, or this was the case the last time I checked. Cheers, Dave

Interesting to see this time they are running buses right through to Halfway, rather than keeping a limited service between Birley Lane and Halfway. Makes better sense to do it this way, as that way there are no trams trapped by the works. The route around Crystal Peaks will be interesting, especially for the stop at Beighton / Drake House Lane.
