Hello all,
Myself and a few friends are coming down to Sheffield and Rotherham this weekend to hunt down the ex. Hunslet Park stock that you now have down here.
To make life a little easier for us, what routes can these be found operating on in Sheffield and Rotherham or is it a pretty much mixed bag of allocations and they can be mixed in with your native batches of vehicles?
Any help would be greatful. Thanking You.

Thank you thecaptain for that very fast response. Are those services quoted all high-frequency services by any chance? Will get researching the routes ASAP.
Many thanks once again.

Should be 12 B7TL Geminis on the 51s with possibly another 2 on part-days or all 3 spare on 120s. The 47/48 requires 23 B9s so 37103-37122 get mixed in with natives, and also some part-day workings for exams. 37104 is VOR with RTA damage.

If on a Saturday the 51 is every 12 minutes from Lodge Moor to Charnock via City Centre, Mon - Fri is every 10 minutes.
The 47/48 on same day is every 15 minutes each but combines to be a 7/8 minute frequency on common sections. 47/48 run Shiregreen to Herdings via City Centre, common sections are between Shoreham Street (near Bramall Lane) & Firth Park via City Centre. Mon - Fri is every 10 minutes each, 5 minutes combined.
120 is every 10 minutes with FSY between Fulwood & Halfway, split operation with Stagecoach who run E400H's, combined frequency every 5 minutes/every 4 minutes Mon - Fri. Allocation on Saturdays on 120 is B7TL Gemini/B9TL Gemini (native YN58 versions)/ ALX 400's (native versions). Mon - Fri is every 8 minutes
South Yorkshire also has some ex FWY ALX 400's as well, in Sheffield these are mostly found on 81/82/85 Ecclesall Road services. In Rotherham are ex Bradford W-DWX/ex Leeds YU52 versions, almost any route is a possibility but 1/2 Maltby is a best bet. In Doncaster there are more ex Bradford W-DWX versions these are mostly found on 83/85/87/88/91 services.

Any idea about the vehicles at Rotherham and is it Olive Grove? [B7TL/ALX400]. I'd presume these will be harder to hunt down considering there is only 8 that have moved?

The 3114xs are at Rotherham but 2101 is your man for what routes they live on over there.

B7TLs at Rotherham can usually be found on any of the following,
Services 1, 2, 15, 32, 37, 66
The 1 & 2 are Rotherham - Maltby and are normally mostly B9TL (unless needed on X78) with a couple of B7TLs making up the numbers. The 15 & 37 are town services and certain journeys interwork with the 32 Rotherham - Sheffield. The 66 is Rotherham - High Green.

31142/44/45 do tend to spend a lot of time on 1/2s because the non-B9TL Maltby boards should be allocated Euro 3 B7TL, however as Atlantean says they operate most services. I think on a Saturday all the 66 boards are ALX and some of the 37 (town) boards are too. Your best thing to do to track them down is hang around Rotherham bus station for a while until one you're looking for turns up.

Thank you for all the previous help and just want some quick news about 1 particular vehicle (a personal favourite of mine). Can 30846 be expected out in service this Saturday, should the snow not cause any problems and where can it be most commonly found?
PS we had a great time last week and you lot were certainly right about the 51 bus route. Very hilly!

30846 should be on 81/82/85s. Scrapped better buses in 2006.

Learned all those routes last time and they are easy to find and cover, especially the 82. 30846 was fine when it left HP, although always had a softspot for it given it was the first ALX400 into the fleet when new. They do show their age a bit though I'll admit.

They do show their age a bit though I'll admit. Its not really specific to its former location its just that Euro-2 spec B7TLs are of no use in Sheffield and breakdown more frequently with overheating/no power and anything else the drivers can find. They love the back of Sparrows wagons.
