75 Branded B9TL 37479 was on the 53 on Friday evening. It wasn't on there all day - Is their something that runs on to the 53 at Ecclesfield around 21:00/22:00 or was it a changeover?

Forgot to put this up yesterday (Friday 05/04/2013):
Stagecoach Sheffield 22909 - 52
First time on routes 35 and 37 in Sheffield yesterday (Friday). Was on them between the city and Meadowhall. It was an experience I will never forget. I know Sheffield is noted for its hills, but I just can't believe how steep some of the hills the buses go up are! It is madness to be putting B7Ls on these routes - what they desperately need are B10BLEs for a bit of muscle when hill climbing. I got 60890 on the 37, and 61633 on the 37. They were both absolute heaps. In particular, 61733 is the worst B7L I've travelled on in a long time - it nearly gave up the ghost on Jenkin Road tonight, and then after it (eventually) got through Grimethorpe (on route 37) the warning buzzers started going off on it.
To be fair, those routes are incredibly demanding on any bus, with all the speed ramps, the incredibly tight turns in places (some skill on the driver's part to drive through parts of these routes for sure), bumps etc. If these buses are generally on these routes, even with the best of maintenance, they're going to be in bits after a while. However, the B10BLEs are just so much quicker (and better made), it strikes me as the obvious thing to do with these routes is to give them B10BLEs. B7RLEs would probably be good too. I really believe that half the reason the B7Ls are disliked so much on this forum is because so many of them are in a very bad way condition wise. If they were overhauled, they would be much better. I was on 60718 on Thursday night, it even idled properly and was flying along - in fact, apart from it rattling, it was a very good bus. If every B7L was like 60718, I don't think there would be a lot of reasons to complain about them.
Cork has a lot of B7Ls, but most of them are a lot better than the ones here, although a few of them are total sheds too.
