Results of Stagecoach Yorkshire tender bids are as follows:
"In Chesterfield, we have won the Sunday 55a trips from TM Travel. This will give us a seven day a week offer to Alfreton. DCC are not replacing the Sunday evening journeys which were very lightly used.
Shortly after that news, SYPTE had a number of tenders up for renewal to take effect from the end of April. Most of these were in Rotherham, but there were a couple in Sheffield and one in Barnsley.
The bad news is that we have lost some evening trips on the 86 in Sheffield to Yorkshire Tiger. This will be their first route in Sheffield. We have also lost some bits (mainly later evening trips) on the 218 to TM Travel.
Better news is that as well as retaining our existing work on the 31 in Sheffield (not all journeys are being replaced however), the 44/106 that Ecclesfield run for us in Rotherham and evening bits on the 221, we have gained work on the 26 from Crystal Peaks to Wales and Kiveton Park via Killamarsh and the early mornings, evenings and Sunday journeys on two Rotherham locals, the 111 to East Dene and 137 to Kimberworth. Rawmarsh will cover the 111/137 (normally one bus will do a trip on each once an hour) whilst Holbrook will look after the 26 for us. We are especially pleased to win the 26 as it gives us a stronger presence once more in Killamarsh.
The Barnsley route was the 92 which has been retained by Yorkshire Tiger."
Personally I find the most interesting thing here the fact that tiger have won some of the trips on the 86 which will give them a (small) presence in Sheffield.

Thanks for this information. Any news from other companies on losses/gains? TM Travel seem to be losing some ground in Rotherham.

my mum has heard that stagecoach has lost contact for service 1 (high Green to batemoor) Can you ask her how a company can "lose the contract" for a commercial operation please.

Maybe some of the early morning/late evening are tendered. I'm not sure if any 1/1a trips are tendered. I know a few trips when it was the 75 to High Green were tendered but they were operated by First. Maybe some of the trips by Stagecoach are tendered and it's these what they're losing seems unlikely though. Could it be that it's the 86 which your Mum is on about similar area (Chapeltown) as Stagecoach are apparently losing some of these trips to Yorkshire Tiger.

Update to Stagecoach Yorkshire's tender news:
"There have been a couple of changes advised to us by SYPTE.
Sheffield service 86 - I'm pleased to advise we will now retain the evening tendered trips on this service.
Rotherham services 111/137 - as First have registered part of this work commercially, our bid has failed and they have retained the work."

Good news for the taxpayer (and the PTE budget) if these uneconomic trips suddenly become commercialy viable to the incumbent operator the minute that someone else wins the tender to operate them! (I'm sure Yorkshire Tiger will be on the streets of Sheffield before long though)

Would service 137 be more commercially viable today due to the cancellation of service 138 on Sundays and evenings? Also, its diversion through Ferham seems to pick up more passengers than Kimberworth Road. Also, first did used to run Sunday services along Ferham road with the 22m prior to route alterations.
I would think 137 is more viable than it used to be.

It is TM Travel who operate tendered services on these routes at the moment so are we saying first have gained these back?
