Who gets to decide what people "require"? I suspect nobody has actually asked the people who use the buses what they require. If they did they would be told they require a much more frequent evening service than they currently get, let alone a worse one. There have been numerous cases where the public have been asked what they require and the end result was services were provided that ran empty because what the public say when they are asked and what they actually do are 2 very different things.

We all want a bus service when we want it, we don't always plan for it, so if I was asked in a survey I would say I want a bus that runs every 10 minutes which I am lucky to have, however if I lived 5 minutes walk from where I live now I would only get a service with 5 buses a day. I would still tell any survey I want a 10 minute service despite the fact the 5 buses a day barely have more than 10 people on them so surveys are no use. I am not going to say thanks First for giving me a choice of 5 buses which I can choose any seat as barely anyone gets on it, I would tell them I want one every 10 minutes in case I want to go out at other times of the day other than 30 minutes past the hour.

And bus companies know this so provide a sustainable service and SYMCA / SYPTE continually fail to do their job and fill the gaps
