Shafton depot did have a bus that said excursion on the blind that confused a lot of people when it was out n about. I think another one had destination skipped or something similar on it and quite a few passengers thought it was going to skipsea. Thats a bit of a rarity - excursion. Not seen that in years anywhere.

It was an old bus they had got from somewhere and the blinds were broken, it was funny though.

Tickhill and Bawtry were on SYT blinds because the did indeed run there i remember what they called the "Border link" starting under NBC which was the X25 Bawtry-Sheffield operated by East Midland but also some SYT involvment morning and afternoon peaks, the memory becomes a bit hazy after a while but i remember SYT or Mainline running an X24 which i thing went to Doncaster from Tickhill which was withdrawn and another NBC with Wigmores fleetnames stepped in with if i remember an X87 which was fairly short lived as i remember us gaining what must have been an emergency tender for it Tracky had Maltby on blinds as i remember Olympians running from Ravenfield to Maltby Comprehensive not sure about Kimberworth though East Midland blinds had Barnsley and Highgate on when we won the Dearne Valley network which we were led to believe was for a further service we had won (269 ?)but never actually operated possibly as a deal to supcontract was reached as im sure Tracky did not want to see Stagecoach buses running in to Barnsley ! Since then i have helped a couple of ops managers design blinds and speculative destinations were allways included usually as possible tender gains

Remember a PROPPER sheffield blind would have other gems which are lost today although used then: Sothall, Crookes - about 2 versions, Woodseats, Meadowhead, Greenhill etc etc etc etc Do buses still have Woodhouse via Standon Road (from the old 93 blinds)? Am sure I saw it on a 52 not that long ago, but my memory may be playing tricks... As for Buxton, good question. Did SYT have any journeys on the old Trent 208 (which I think was the previous version of the X23, before it became the X18, before it became the 218)? Otherwise, I'm stuck. Been trying to think of some short lived summer Sunday services (like the 401/402 to Glossop), but can't think of any Decided to do a quick on Sheffield - Buxton in my old timetables. In 1968 it was still Sheffield Joint Committee route 84. By 1970 it had been taken over by North Western but still route 84 however by1972it was Trent route 184 and in 1975 joint Trent/Potteries route 28. SYT was formed in 1974 and some vehicles inherited from Sheffield would still have had Buxton on their blinds
