Forgot to mention this yesterday, after been dragged around the shops by the missus in town, when we were heading back on the 76, passing under the Woodseats Road bridge was a Class 158 South West train, sadly as the traffic was crawling I did not manage to get the fleetnumber. Two remain on loan, off the top of my head it's 158881/2. Ah right, thanks for clearing that up 3jm. I knew some were on loan to East Midlands Trains a few months ago, but had thought these had gone back down south, until Saturday that is.

156438 was on the Wakefield Line ex Leeds via Moorthorpe arriving at Swinton @ 11:34 (surprisingly on time, then again it was not a Pacer!) and arriving at Rotherham Central @ 11:41.

A bit strange to see a 156 in South Yorkshire. I assume it is over at Neville Hill to cover for some of the Pacers whilst they receive a repaint, unless Neville Hill are short once again?

This is an unusual sighting(s)
went on the 1240 (ish) doncaster - Manchester airport.
We were running under caution from dony to mexborough where we stopped we then went on the mexborough - aldwarke line the frieght only line
Its the first time ive been on this on a normal service since swinton station opened understand there was a points problem at swinton

TPE do sometimes goes this way. I've known them do it before but when the Arriva x country goes past mexborough it goes on the swinton line but not a regular thing. the vice versa also applies. Think if there is something on the line from swinton they divert non stopping round the back to aldwarke to save them getting delayed.

There was a 158 on the Doncaster to Leeds service today. (Well, I assume it was - it was in the Leeds bay (platform 6?) when I was leaving the bus station.)

You might have mistaken it for the bay next to it Ryan, I regularly see 158's stationed there for a while, and I've never seen a 158 on the Leeds stopper. However, I could be wrong!

No, I did think that at first though. There was another one (can't remember which type) in the middle bay, probably parked up, but the 158 (Leeds branded) was loading with doors open. A 321 probably failed then!

I assume theres a slow train on the Swinton line?

It is not freight only by the way, it is a designated passenger route, albeit no longer part of the "main line" any more.
