Do you think the supertram should be extended (please vote in the poll)and state the destination(s) where you think the supertram should serve.

i think that they should extend it to parkgate via rotherham and extened the present system from herdings round the south ring road through norton to meadowhead and build a park and ride station at the side of meadowhead school as the land is for sale by sheffield city council and the tram could run in the middle of the dual carriageway so in ways this might be the best option and to rotherham you just branch off the meadowhall line just after tinsley tram station and follow the railway line to rotherham town centre then either go down st annes road or follow the back route via the railway line for anoth 3/4 of a mile to parkgate retail world.

what does everyone else think about these extensions.
the tram was surpost to be going up to manvers via parkgate , rawmarsh , kilnhurst and wath shame that isn't going to happen now.

Yes look good, another one I'd really like to see (pretty unlikely, but was mentioned when first opened) is a route up to Stocksbridge on old railway lines, ready, flat land to be used!

Yes there was talk about that but they turned it down because the tram would not stop for 10 minutes and might run empty up to stocksbridge so that would cause it to loose money so that plan was axed.

Not just a case of ready flat land,,old lines have to be removed and new ones laid,,power lines have to be put in as well, the land would atill have to be surveyed all this work would still cost millions and for very little return on their investment. So other areas would suffer by way of increased fares,I think the best stagecoach could offer on this route is a feeder service from Middlewood to Stocksbridge.
