Yes look good, another one I'd really like to see (pretty unlikely, but was mentioned when first opened) is a route up to Stocksbridge on old railway lines, ready, flat land to be used! Not just a case of ready flat land,,old lines have to be removed and new ones laid,,power lines have to be put in as well, the land would atill have to be surveyed all this work would still cost millions and for very little return on their investment. So other areas would suffer by way of increased fares,I think the best stagecoach could offer on this route is a feeder service from Middlewood to Stocksbridge. By a feeder service do you mean a local bus route operated by stagecoach?

Yes like a connecting shuttle, allthough i dont see this happening either.
I know this will upset some people,,the public are under this false idea that people like stagecoach have the publics interest at heart, the friendly bus company, serving the community and all that.
This is so very wrong, money and profit is all that matters so to run a tram to stocksbridge would be suicidal, granted you would have a peak period but after that what have you got???nothing. The bulk of traffic during the day is OAPs shuttling back and forth and not in great numbers. So the scope for making vast amounts of money just isnt there.

Oh yes that is what stagecoach in yorkshire going to be doing if the routes dont go ahead forgot where i read this now like the bradfield routes and the 201 there will be feeder lines to the supertram but if they do this the trams will get full and then they will need to buy more trams.

I still cant see it happening, the volumes that use the 201 and the 62 ect..just wouldnt warrant the purchase of new trams on the strength that they think it would fill up the trams. As I see it Stocksbridge is just a dead horse with nothing going for it,,thats why they only have the current service that they have now because it doesnt warant anything different.

I think the best place to extend the tram would be to rotherham as that would build up the volumes and it would also help on the meadowhall section which allways as full trams.

Now Rotherham I agree with,it should have gone there in the first place when they built it,,but the powers that be thought they knew best.

When they were first planning the supertram didnt they also plan to bring it out to Rotherham and Doncaster and then changed their mind because of financial implications changed their mind. People in doncaster still complain about this and say they are paying for something they dont use

What bit do u agree on, cos I cant really say I dont use it as when I go shopping to meadowhall I often pop into sheffield on tram and when i was a student at uni of sheffield, used to use it and have got some hospital appointments coming up at sheffield, so will be using it then

I hope that the Supertram is extended beaause it looks like Manchester will get their extensions (again). They've already had their system extended whilst many systems still run on the first line (like Nottingham or Midland Metro). Thankfully, supertram has more than 1 line but I hope it does have an extension.

Yes i agree with you manchester has had loads of extensions so for the first extensions for sheffield we might not even see these extensions happen lets hope if they do go ahead they will go to places that people want to go not like the present routes operated.
