Once again has only one person taken all the photos for this months background photo?
I ask this because same as last month all photos have copyright South Yorkshire Transport across the middle of them.

We have a Doncaster picture as the current POTM, for example. Given the pictures submitted, you have to strike a balance between Sheffield/ Rotherham/ Doncaster/ Barnsley and a balance between Bus/ Train/ Tram/ Air and a balance between Big Operators/ Independents and a balance between Historic/ Topical/ Everyday... I don't think that a "quota" system is the way forward, when you need to have a shot from each "borough" for the sake of it, as I think the best six pictures should go forward (and then you'd get complaints that smaller places weren't represented...). I I think we have some excellent pictures this month, and more than one of them may have won a previous month's competition. As I didn't submit a photo, I wouldn't criticise the others. Whilst I'll vote for Number Three, there's not a bad shot, and I like the mix we have. At the risk of sounding trite, the best way of ensuring that your kind of picture gets nominated it to submit it, but I think we're lucky to have so many good photographers on the board (and such a mix) |

I have gone for no 2 .
The problem with no 3 is we have all seen this and commented on in and said how good it was. At least with no 2 it is different.
But without upseting anyone, i also think it is a poor selection this month, but all the photo's are good. Prehap's it would have been better to have closed the time for sending photos in at Midnight last night and then photo's from yesterdays B10M event and Sandtoft could have been sent in (just my thoughts).

Normally you get 2 or 3 photos submitted by administrators and the other ones are from the same person. I'm sorry to say that I will no longer be sending in any entries for the Background Picture in the future, as it is clearly rigged. Unless you're friends with an administrator, you're wasting your time (in my opinion) |
