There isn't much detail in the public domain, but Lee Rowley certainly seems to have it in for Hulleys so who knows what could happen.
They are running it commercially, so I guess one option would be an element of funding which may give them more flexibility in hiring drivers and buying newer buses, both of which would help with the cancellations. These seem to be down to one or two diagrams a day, all of which seem to get partly covered, which is far better than it was late last year, but still not ideal.
I would imagine though that once funding comes in to the equation the council would have to open it up to anyone who wants to bid on the service so there would be no guarantee it would stay with Hulleys. Which of course is option 2, the council might be discussing with Stagecoach how much they'd want to take over with a view to edging Hulleys out.
Other options could be things like Hulleys agreeing to give up one of their other services to free up resources. The obvious candidate being the 63, but would Stagecoach want to take that on? I'd argue that better organisation of the Chesterfield to Matlock routes could bring some savings and even improvements, but ideas like that appear to be too much for DCC or Stagecoach to consider.
I think fundamentally the 80 is trying to do what 2 or even 3 routes are really needed to cover, but also Hulleys are hamstrung by capacity and needing to make it pay. If DCC really wanted to make good use of their BSIP funding it would be in areas such as this and the parts of Chesterfield which are down to a single hourly bus, rather than paying to run two fast buses and hour to Matlock and an open topper in the middle of winter.

No indication who will be taking over or what will be run instead. Sounds like there have been too many challenges with disruptions and pushing resources. I wonder how much the pressure from Lee Rowley has played in to this and whether he is happy that the service might either go completely or the council need to spend money funding someone else to run it?

11648 HK-Manchester Hyde Rd. Going on loan or permanent? Just loan for Tranche 2 assistance whereby Oldham is concerned.

Volvo B7TL 16943 transferred Lincoln-Chesterfield Bustimes is also showing 19336 with Stagecoach Yorkshire, albeit down as Stockport depot. Doesn't seem to have run in service since early February, so is this another open top conversion? Currently showing as 5 open toppers here, so are they expanding the Peak Sightseer, or is this just transitory?
Nothing yet to indicate when it will start - I'm surprised they weren't out running over the Easter school holiday as I'd have thought that would be a more lucrative time than running right up to Christmas.

19336 is the enviro that lost its roof in a collision with a tree in Chorlton earlier in the year.

Has the PVR for the 120 gone down does anyone know? There was supposed to be 12 400 MMCs for the 120 and 8 dpsre to be pooled between service 52 and 25. But the 52 is nearly always an MMC these days. Not sure how they are doing that with a supposed PVR of 10 and only 8 buses supposedly available and shared with other routes. Also not seen a 300 MMC in a while have they moved elsewhere?
