Is it co-incidence that both these collisions have occurred with Tram Train rather than the conventional trams? The only difference I can see re potential visibility to other road users is the size of the headlights. Trams have been running across this junction for over 20 years. Has there been any previous incidents here (Staniforth Road) over that time?

There have been numerous incidents at this road crossing over the years, all of which have involved road vehicles going through red lights.
I believe the council are reviewing the road layout and traffic light design to see if there are any issues their end that could be confusing drivers.

Good end of 204 is being mated with the good parts of 202 at the moment, with 202s bad end being joined onto 204.
