Just wanting to know something regarding the 4 SLF Darts at Rotherham. When these had Roller Blinds fitted could they only display Sheffield via Airport and Rotherham via Airport as I can not recall once in 3 years when they were mis allocated and not used on the A1 route. If they did have other destinations in place, what where these and why were they never used on any other service apart from the A1 until First lost the contract for the A1 and these were then allocated to the 107? Because they were A1 branded, surely? There'd by complaints of misallocation if they were put on other routes! Yeah agreed, but we are talking about First South Yorkshire here! Just seems very odd that is all, unless there was someones job on the line if they ever got misallocated, it is also worth noting when they were used on the A1 even at 3 years old they still looked like they were brand new vehicles! Also the A1 route branding was a little pathetic and I would not call it route branding, just stated A1 Shuttle in very small letters at the top then with an advert on the sides and rears of all the company's logos that supported the A1 route (as this currently is now on the Veolia Solos). Also in regards to the A1 SLF Darts at Rotherham did they have Manual or Power Blinds?

Thank you for that list browncream I can not remember a Eastwood Trading Estate bus, but I know when I was in year 7 at Thrybergh, I remember in Eastwood Trading Estate there was a bus shelter, along with 2 telephone boxes and a post box outside the KP factory on Chesterton Road, although after the bus shelter was constantly vandalised and the CCTV did not work to deter the culprits this was removed along with the telephone boothes and post box, only the road marking saying Bus Stop still remain on the road, I may pop down later on, on my bike and get some photos, but I can remember the Timetable saying 721 I think, I know it was a 7 series number and was only a workers special service. Was the ASDA service the one for the ASDA at Eastwood (also on the Eastwood Trading Estate at the side of this bus stop!) before it moved to Dalton? Surprised any bus journeys ended at Mowbray Gardens, mind you this is currently the terminus of the 15, although the blinds display East Herringthorpe rather than Eastwood or Mowbray Gardens as they do on the bus timetables. The works bus from KP was 759. Yep, Browncream was nice enough to send me a PM with the information on, which can be viewed below, "Dug out the tt for Eastwood Industrial Estate. Service 759 From Rotherham Bus Station via Fitzwilliam Road, Shaw Road and Chesterton Road. From RBS 0745 From ETE 1235FO 1420FO 1633NF 1650 2152 Even going through my old PTE faretables, I can't find a service with a 71x number (except the very old 711 to Alsing Road). Pre-dereg on a contract basis." On the discussion of the 759 Browncream, Maltaboy, Maltaboy or Anyone, when did the 759 service stop?

A new one to me, from a 1971 picture of an STD AEC Regent V
GENERAL HOSPITAL
on the upper after SOUTHEY GREEN.
(For those who don't know, the Northern General was known as such until the 1970's.

Interesting lot. The Fastline logo is a patch for the X78 as the blind (if produced in 1982) would pre-date the Fastline logo launch.

Interesting blind here. Does seem strange to have the Fastline logo on a blind with the old-style capital font though.

There's an interesting blind listed on eBay at the moment. I'm guessing it's the top blind from an AEC Swift:-
DOBCROFT ROAD TINSLEY [HIGHGATE] BEAUCHIEF SHIRECLIFFE * Presumably an insert, it's a different font * SAVILE STREET WINCOBANK PARKWAY HARDCASTLE RD CRIMICAR LANE FULWOOD NETHER GREEN GREAVES STREET RUSTLINGS ROAD MALIN BRIDGE ROSCOE BANK SHIREGREEN GREYSTONES RINGINGLOW BENTS GREEN PETRE STREET [REFORM/CHAPEL] HUNSLEY STREET CITY GLEADLESS GLEADLESS CHURCH HERDINGS ARBOURTHORNE HOLLYTHORPE RISE GRAVES PARK HEMSWORTH GLEADLESS RD TOTLEY TOTLEY BROOK RD OWLER BAR LOW EDGES RD DRONFIELD UNSTONE CHESTERFIELD HOLMESFIELD BRADWAY GREENHILL JORDANTHORPE //BLANK// SOTHALL BEIGHTON BROOKHOUSE COLL HACKENTHORPE SHEFFIELD MOSBROUGH ECKINGTON KILLAMARSH DINNINGTON KIVETON PARK [HARD/LANE] WALES BAR SWALLOWNEST TREETON CATCLIFFE BASLOW BAKEWELL HATHERSAGE BAMFORD CASTLETON FOX HOUSE BRADWELL PRIVATE SPECIAL DUPLICATE
---
Can anyone in the know confirm that this is from a Swift, and if so does anyone know the corresponding bottom blind?
The interesting destinations for me on there are "PARKWAY" (Old service 21 maybe?), the three Gleadless different displays, Totley Brook and Low Edges both with "Rd" on the end of them, and the Shirecliffe in a square font.

Where exactly was Bradwell, not heard of that before, was it a local road such as Nethergate in Stannington or an actual district of South Yorkshire / Derbyshire? Giving the destinations what surround it, I am guessing it is somewhere in the High Peak.
Also when they say Parkway do they mean Parkway Avenue / Parkway Markets where the 91/92 used to run before the A1 took over?

I think the current 272 serves it every 2 hours. Lovely area!

Bradwell is on the 272 route and is fairly near Hope. (Edit: sorry syt2007 beat me to it there, I started a reply and left it open for about 30 minutes!)
I'm guessing Parkway refers to Parkway Markets, i.e. my "old service 21" comment (as that's what it would have been in Swift days - 21 was City - Parkway Market)

Are we talking years and years ago or within the last 15 years John?

Years and years ago, i.e. when these blinds were fitted to vehicles.
