Maybe older than 1968 if it has "Hardcastle Road". "Hardcastle Road" was where Stradbroke Services 93 terminated at one point in the early 60s - since there is no turning circle evident, presumably reversing was needed.

Hardcastle Road was removed a long time ago, it is literally at the top of my estate in Woodhouse. Made way for the new housing development on Bishop Gardens.

The 93 used to terminate at Richmond and was extended in about 1968. HARDCASTLE RD. is an unusual destination instead of STRADBROKE and was used by service 112 (712) As for John's comment, It's not a blind from a Swift, as this would have had FIRTH PARK and TEMPLEBOROUGH on the top and would have had BUXTON if it was before 1970. My guess, and at this time, purely a guess, is that it is from a lowheight AEC (bridgemaster or regent). One of the codes on the rear is for Bramhall Lane garage, which closed in 1963. WALES BAR etc. would certainly have been needed on these for the duplicates. Clouding the issue though is the display for BROOKHOUSE COLL. which could only be reached by sd - but, dd's ran to the top of the pit lane, and an sd ran a shuttle to the pit head.

Where was Saville Street shown, what route would it be? What were the 3 routes to Gleadless and the routes they took?

Saville Street would have been used for a works service. The three Gleadless destinations would have been used on the 34/5/8/9 (GLEADLESS RD.) for short workings to Heeley Green, GLEADLESS was for the old 51 terminus at Town End and GLEADLESS CHURCH was used for the old 225/725 from that point to Brookhouse Colliery.

Very good and detailed lists, as I have not being in the area long I do not know most if any of the above destinations, but was wondering if anyone has the current First Rotherham lists available and if you are willing to publish them onto the forum?
Kind Regards, Callum.

Just found this thread will look properly later hardcastle road may have been a short , remeber there were trillions of short workings in STD/PTE days.
IE scarsdale road shorts on lowedges services plus on same ones woodsetas , thre were also shorts on 52s .
Plus you had some extensions on some routes ie when the 75s finish at sheffield lane top there were 2 journeys a day that started from ecclesfield - just to confuse us

Look forward to it, how old exactly are these blinds? Don't suppose you have any recent blinds since First Group arrived in South Yorkshire do you Browncream?
