Well done for saving it. its a piece of history because it was the first H-THL now probably the only survivor now. it would be another historic moment to save H642RKU the only H-RKU left. All the seats are out and that. what about the wall trim and that?

Any of the earlier B10Ms, if you were doing it right you would probably end up dismantling it like we have so far to replace rot and corrosion etc. All the seats which were on 651 have been scrapped and some more frames which were in the early B10Ms when new (I am hoping to make a full set!) have been sourced

get the seat moquette right and you're on a winner, the Donny ones kept their silver handrails which makes life easier than the Sheffield yellow ones
looking forward to seeing your results, you obviously mean business

I've just put some pics on flickr, plenty of work has been done but there is a hell of a lot to do and it needs to be done right. It's the first Saturday I have spent on it in as long as I can remember, working and having other commitments doesn't leave a right lot of time but we are getting there. Basically it finished service in January 2013 and we acquired it on 16/3/2013, since then we have looked at the body and underneath and know everything which needs to be done which is visible at this moment. We have taken some panels off around the rear end including the bumper, we have taken all the grab rails and bells out, we have taken all the seats out and got rid of them, we have removed the floor covering, we have removed the 4 pieces of aluminium tracking which the seats were fixed to (right job!), we have removed the heater pipes and various bits of trim. The next job is to remove the battery boost socket and then there is nothing else hindering us from removing the floor and once the floor is removed the chassis and floor bearers can be sandblasted and then welded and replaced accordingly allowing the lot to be painted, starting with Zinc Phosphate. This set of photos shows the story so far, the first 4 are from today www.flickr.com/photos/50299106@N06/sets/72157633013228836/with/9376362133/It is looking like a splendid job you guys are doing there 2101, best way to do it is indeed properly first time round. The refurb unit seem to have put it back together solidly when it gained the corporate interior from the sounds of it! How long did it last in service with that interior? Can't have been very long, wouldn't surprise me if it was longer as a DTV than in service! Keep up the cracking work guys, top livery choice too! Can't wait until the day it is finished.

haven't got the money for a bus I wish I d did though I hope a G-NWA gets preserved still a lot of them left in DTV's. will there be a problem getting parts like a syt interior? 672 had it and 673 both got scrapped though. a retrim would be costly.

It did nearly 10 years service after being refurbished. I think it was refurbed in 1998/99, it wasn't long after First took over Mainline. 651/652/653 were done out of Rotherham's batch and 663/664/666 out of Halfway's. 651 was done in First Mainline livery when refurbed as it was the first to be done, I think the others were done in fade out www.billwrightbusphotos.co.uk/cpg15x/displayimage.php?album=15&pid=13601#top_display_media

Not exmained and maintained to same standard as the service fleet. DTVs don't need to be as they are not going for a Class 6 MOT as they are not doing service.
