Incidentally, is there much history of the DABs operating services, during the Mainline/First Mainline era, other than the 501 and 502? Any rare workings? I remember them appearing on school runs (even after the withdrawal of the 502 itself). The 501, of course, continued after the end of bendibus operation. 41 cystal peaks if you look on the video about syt banning smoking you will see inspectors getting on an arctic on the 41 which was a reguler thing. 552 city ballifield i think this was a peak only service which was run by artics. here you go Jimmy, look around 1.50

They were also used on the X91 Sheffield - Thurnscoe on a regular basis .... The dual purpose ones were purchased for this service.

Another route the artics regularly covered was school 774 City - Greystones - Norton. 1988-ish time they ran on many of the journeys as I'd commute to work on it. Really cool going down Greystones Rd on them (or back up it, they were good hill climbers)

Saw them from my flat window a couple of times PM Peak journeys on the old 80 route City-High Green. I think they was used for passenger level problems. Where they also not used regulary for SWFC matches.

Are we talking 1977 by any chance and the Queens silver Jubilee event in Hillsborough Park, were school children from all the school in Sheffield attended and the Queen attended?
