Yes I do and it's much more comfortable away from shirt and tie and most passengers couldn't care less. Also peak Rail is a heritage railway so heritage uniform fits the scene. Different from modern day to day bus operations. It's not as though you are lifting heavy objects or building brick walls or anything else that is laborious. You are sat in an air conditioned and heated cabin, in a comfortable seat. I see no reason why drivers can't make the effort to look smart and presentable. Stagecoach have upped their game in recent years with the standard of their fleet, for example the new 400MMCs look very smart with high-back leather seats and warm pine effect flooring. It's a shame they've gone the other way with their uniform. 30 years ago it was a smart shirt tie and lapels with a blazer. Looked very professional. It's amazing how few arguments there has been for the past 24 hours you've not posted isn't it? Of course you're entitled to your opionion on uniforms, and the point you raise about professional is indeed portrayed by a suit, but unless you've ever worked as a bus driver, driving buses (and not on a computer game or in your fantasy world) you cannot tell an actual bus driver that the seats are comfortable, the cabin has air con etc etc. To my knowledge, there's very few that have actual air conditioning in the drivers cab-but I'll stand corrected to that if a reputable source can correct me on that. The year is 2024, trends have changed and conditions have improved. Police officers used to wear shirts and ties, but again, those have been phased out for uniform better suited to the role. I assume you don't drive them. Driving a small car for long hours is mentally laborious, so long hours in a bus must be even worse.

I thought we'd got another troll but in reality it's crosscythe so my input on this matter is now closed other than... Buses and Air-conditioning haha don't make me laugh.

Very few buses actually have cab air conditioning, and the heating often doesn’t work as it’s meant to. I’d like to know where this notion that we’re in an air conditioned and heated cab has come from, because I’d like to work at that company. I'm not sure about the Stagecoach Streetlites but the First Streetlites definitely have air conditioning. I can feel the cool breeze when I walk towards the cab to alight and the passenger cabin area also has some form of climate control too (look at the ceiling and you will see black vents). Bringing it back to topic, the Stagecoach Enviro 400 Milk Floats definitely have climate control, as it is noticably noisy. It's very obvious in Winter that the cab has climate control, as you can feel the warmth as you wait by the driver's cab to alight.

Yes, I an entitled to my opinion and as long as it falls within forum rules, I shall express it. If there are any buses without air conditioning, they will atleast have a fan in the cockpit to keep the driver cool. In any case, I find a cotton formal shirt to be cooler than a thick T-shirt. At Peak Rail, I wore a light coloured shirt and it really helped my skin to breathe. Unfortunately, I am unable to drive due to epilepsy, but I ride the buses regularly, so can say what I experience in the cabin. Most buses have large, comfortable, spring cushioned seats for the driver. This prevents strain on his back and possible whiplash if going over the numerous potholed roads in Sheffield. The only seat I've seen that doesn't look comfortable is the ones on the TM Travel Eclipse Solars that has no form of head rest. For example, Stagecoach Ecclesfield has Streetlites, which are fitted with high-backed, posture conscious seating that looks similar to a gaming chair.

Aside from the absolute drivel, you again seem to think that all bus drivers are male. It's really not hard to use neutral pronouns.

Anyone have an idea when the new Stagecoach livery will be coming to Green Lane or Holbrook? The green milk floats have had 2 different liveries pass them by somehow.
