are chesterfield short of buses as YN63 YPM is here on the 65 also the one from barnsley is on the 1a aswell

Bustimes is showing 4 red ex-London E200s (59 reg) in the Yorkshire fleet - are these all new driver trainers? 36254/7/8/60, 36353 also shown here in driver trainer livery.
On Thursday morning I passed 36985 broken down in a layby on the A61. Looking at tracking it seems like an easy fix as it was only there about 40 minutes, unless a new bus came out and they swapped ticket machines?

The uniform is both polo shirts and the button up blue and white shirt, it's down to each drivers preference. They should all be in the button up blue shirts. Bus driving is first and foremost a profession. Professionals should dress accordingly. I am not supportive of the casualisation of uniforms in general. There’s 2 things the operators are doing: keeping up with society has changed and trying to make the job more appealing. You might choose to wear your anorak 365 days a year but that’s your choice

I am not supportive of the casualisation of uniforms in general. There’s 2 things the operators are doing: keeping up with society has changed and trying to make the job more appealing. You might choose to wear your anorak 365 days a year but that’s your choice You can get specially designed formal shirts these days that have breathable microholes in them that keep the occupant very cool in the summer.

You can, but the “anti-wicking” clothing (which I’m assuming you’re referring to) absolutely stinks if you use certain fabric softeners and laundry detergents (which most households will use for their washing), and most people/families are unlikely to wash uniform separate to other clothing.

now that chesterfield are taking on some more services in the matlock/ripley area are there any fleet transfers happening because im sure they would need extra buses unless they are using the solos they already have

No, I don't drive buses, do you Mr Hawkins? I did however, volunteer at Peak Rail for many years and wore a suit and tie (blazer forms part of the suit).

You are sat in an air conditioned and heated cabin, in a comfortable seat. I see no reason why drivers can't make the effort to look smart and presentable. Stagecoach have upped their game in recent years with the standard of their fleet, for example the new 400MMCs look very smart with high-back leather seats and warm pine effect flooring. It's a shame they've gone the other way with their uniform. 30 years ago it was a smart shirt tie and lapels with a blazer. Looked very professional.

Very few buses actually have cab air conditioning, and the heating often doesn’t work as it’s meant to. I’d like to know where this notion that we’re in an air conditioned and heated cab has come from, because I’d like to work at that company.
