....here you are ! - just click on the reg in the list , open the file , and get full details of past , present , and future plans for the bus !......... sytt.webeden.co.uk/#/exsypte-buses/4532045588 ...and i think you may be interested in the new developments down at Tinsley - surprised you hav'nt heard !!!!!!!!..... sytt.webeden.co.uk/It requires a lot of work from what I gather. Particularly inside. Plans for it to be a roadshow bus like BWB148H is at SYTM... Correct again! 1581 needs a lot of work. Its good underneath and apart from a fault with the fuel pump, it has a very good engine. The interior needs stripping out to nothing and starting again - which is what we have started to do. We are working on the finer details for this project behind the scenes at the moment, so this will start to progress later in the year.

...any news of an Open Day yet down at TTS's , Gareth ? Not yet I'm afraid! I'll put it on here as soon as there's some news of this. Can't wait to organise it - dual site etc, free bus service, - will be a great day for all when it finally happens!

It could not happen soon enough for me - but the main issue here is health and safety. When we get title of the building, it will be much easier to have an open day!

SYTT mention A118 XWE, although there is no information on their website. Is this the only Sheffield Metrobus MKII in preservation? Hi, there's nothing on the website about 1918 - you are correct - it is only SYPTE MK2 Metrobus in preservation. Its in resonable condition, but still needs a fair amount of work. Its had a Gardner engine fitted at some point in the past, and this is now very tired. Its likely when the vehicle is restored, it will have a Rolls Royce unit re-fitted. We are currently working on a all new much better website for the SYTT, which we hope to come live before the end of January. Watch This space! Many thanks for this!

South Yorkshire Transport Museum have acquired an open top Titan from Stagecoach (11100). It arrived on a big tow truck (I wasn't there to see it as I have been out with the roadshow bus all day). There are immediate plans for it. I won't give it away. www.flickr.com/photos/mals_uk_buses/4857062673/My photo of it in the museum isn't good but:

Whilst an open top bus is an interesting addition to the museum from a commercial standpoint, why would SYTT acquire a non-South Yorkshire vehicle when there are so many gaps of local interest in the collection, the Dominator springs to mind.
Something I would like to see this year at SYTM is the repainting of Atlantean 1756 into SYT Red/Cream/Brown to mark 25 years since deregulation. The Mainline livery carried since withdrawal and preservation does nothing for the historic value of the vehicle.

...sorry , but disagree with your comments as regards 1756. It would be sacriledge to repaint it as it is one of the best local restorations at the moment and the paintwork is perfect . As for it doing nothing for historical value , where is there another example of Mainline livery anywhere ? - Leave well alone ! Agreed we do need some examples of SYT livery locally (other than M3!) but i know of many other desperate candidates up for the livery without having to repaint 1756 !!!

Nothing to do with SYTM. The open topper - wait and see.
