Stagecoach Yorkshire tender updates:
Ecclesfield - 31 not awarded, 57 evenings and Sunday mornings to First, 86 late evenings to First, 35a and 201 to Powell's.
Holbrook - 25 late evenings to First.
Barnsley - 92 not awarded (Globe are running this commercially during the daytime as a 94). We've retained the evenings and Sundays as 94a.
Chesterfield - 71 evenings not awarded.
We have gained new work at Ecclesfield (one daytime bus on M92/58) and four school buses (760, 762, 766, 777). Rawmarsh have gained the 136 evenings and Sundays, Rotherham to Hoyland.
Rawmarsh will also run the commercial 49, Doncaster to Sprotbrough when the 219 is straightened out. This is one daytime bus, working off 220/221.
We've retained some existing work, including the 218 evenings, 219 evenings and Sundays and all the Penistone Grammar contracts. The 408 and 409 will move from Ecclesfield to Barnsley.
Note that SCT have lost all their tendered work with just the NHS funded H1 remaining. TM Travel have lost the 4 (not awarded), 6 to First and 61/62 to Powell's.
New work for Chesterfield depot... Working with the Peak District National Park we have won a tender to run a summer leisure service linking Derwent Dams, Bamford, Hope, Edale, Castleton, Winnat's Pass and Blue John Caverns. Two buses will run daily for the six weeks school summer holidays. We have the contract for three years.

What does not awarded mean, that the service will be cancelled all together? so no more 31's at night or on a sunday or am I wrong there?

With the 31 apparently first will be altering some of their services to replace parts of the route, but I'm not familiar with the service or the areas it covers so I'm not sure what changes or where.

61 and 62 to Powells? Is that not surely a lot of dead mileage for them to run to and from Sheffield and Bradfield? Unless they inter work with the X7?

This is purely speculation on my part at the minute but a Powell's driver told me that he thought they were going to be running 135A's from September and A first driver was under the impression that . If they have indeed lost 135A Tm don't seem to have a lot of work left. Purley speculation and unconfirmed however a lot of work done by Tm seems to be lost and there a major changes to tendered services from September by the look of things. One thing also seems apparent more services seem to be operated by two different companies meaning people will have to potentially by more expensive multi-operator tickets such as city wide. I also wonder how much notice we will get of these changes as the traveling public. two weeks if we are very luck I guess!

TM and SCT have lost a lot, Stagecoach quite a bit of evening/Sunday work while First have either put the cheapest bids in or told the PTE they will cover the lost mileage by tweaking other routes. Apart from Powell's growth its getting a two operator city with more focus on the PTEs all operator tickets eg Citybus Citywide and Getabout.

What would First use on the 6? Last time they used the Marshall bodied Darts and Solo's. I also think I saw Olympians on it as well.

Presumably the tendered journeys on the 6 are the ones that omit Littledale and run up Prince Of Wales Road to Manor Top? In which case the route should be okay for full sized buses (the side roads in Darnall around Greenland are okay for the 18A that diverts that way, and used to be find with the 70/71 circular).
Replacement of the 31 could be harder. I wouldn't be surprised at a "52B" extending beyond Wisewood to serve Loxley, but the route around Upperthorpe might be a bit harder to serve with diverted services, unless it's tied to the revised 57 tender (i.e. diverting some 57s off Langsett Road/ Infirmary Road)?
After Powells closed a couple of years ago, and various regular services were disrupted by school diversions (and school kids cramming onto normal buses), this set of tenders looks like another attempt to try to cover the same number of passengers with a reduced number of buses, spreading resources even thinner. But with the pub trade no longer being what it was, evening services become harder to sustain.
