Carrying on from what seemed to be the case on the Allocators thread, I thought I'd start a fresh one.
The idea is, add a post if you see something out of the ordinary or 'strange' - like a Solo on the 57, or an Olympian on the 71.
Not as a 'gripe' towards anyone, just as somewhere to collate all the 'unusual workings' reports seen posted all over the place.
I'll start off with some from today:
MNL:
Solo on 91 Airport NLF Drat on the 55 Rosso B6BLE x2 seen on the 54 Airlink B6BLE on the 205
MASS:
Metrorider on the 191 Finningley
WBH:
Solo on the 52 Merc Mini on the 204

MNL: B7L Eclipse on 86 Spud on 130 (and I had the pleasure of riding it!) L207SHW on 30 M427VHE(??, was in B2 livery) on 30
YTR: Stacks of SLF Darts on the 83, suggesting B6s on the 88 (although I never saw one)
TML: I rode YT55TMT on the 65, there is nothing particularly wrong with this but I've never seen it on the 65 before.

Maybe a cover bus for one in barnsley for painting?

Could be an interesting 'log' here guys, my only suggestion is make sure that unusual to you = unusual. A B10M on the 16 in Doncaster for instance does not seem particularly odd to me, especially as full size buses used to be operated, the current 'regulars' are step entry and the impending fate of the Darts mean the B10M COULD be the new workhorse anyway.
Not a criticism guys, just a thought.
The B10M on the 268/269 did seem odd i have to confess though, and i was less than impressed with the Dart on the 30 on Saturday. Can assure you 427 was not out on anything though as it was withdrawn with accident damage a while ago.

Looking at the fleetlist of what is is B2 at RO i think it must have been 429.

Aye, that was my idea in starting it. I assumed that since the regular 16 duties are run by Drats, the B10M would be a substitution of some sort.
Of course then there's the realms of when an unusual working becomes the norm - at one time for example an Olympian working the 88 would be noteworthy, but then they gradually replaced Dommos so the reverse was true.
However Sundays I suppose are a different kettle of fish, anything can and will run anywhere! Thankfully it seems the case that the allocators put low floors on everything where possible, and even seem to put B6BLEs out instead of spuds.

One day low floors will dominate and then it'll be a case of personal judgement whether its the right type of LF! For the time being, on a Sunday at least, you are right in saying its all hearsay.

Indeed, but won't things be ordered? Such as B6BLE's on the 76/54, B9s on 78/50/55, *something else* on the 57, T-JDT B6BLEs on 58/66, or whatever.

Well in Sheffield where all Oveground routes (bar X78) are LF and branding is being removed, it still generally stays as S/T reg B10BLEs for the 51/2/3, B7Ls for 47/8, 20, 76 etc, Y-CSF for 22 and R-WKW/BOU for the 25A. Although it seems that the different batches of B7Ls and B10BLEs are now interchangable. Much like with Alx400s it used to be X-UOKs and WU02s on the 60, WU02s on the 97, YU52s and the 76 and YN53s on the 82 (before moving to the 76 ) Nowadays they are all mixed around on the various LFDD routes, with W-DWXs added to the mix.

yep very true cjm, although their are 2 overground routes not low floor, these being the x78 and the 80 sky line.
Noticed recently that the 75 now as the W/X/WU02 reg alx400, and the 81 as the YU52 (ex 76 branded alx400 buses) which are badly vandalised, the 76 now as b7l's and the 75 alx400's, their as being quite a lot of movements around recently, but im sure they will all be re branded again in the future.

I've noticed that too, a lot more Yu52s than usual appearing on the 81/2. But hopefully the YN53s will be branded for Purple Line as they are IMO the best ones ( ) and lived on the 82 when new. Never was quite sure why these went to Sheffield only to be used on a non-low-floor route, but they were then used to boost the 76's frequency. As for allocations, the spud on the 130 I was referring to was also S525UAK, also noticed that when I got off it in the interchange it became a 69 so ran on that route as well.
